The
Relay for Life 2006
was held overnight
from Friday 23th June to Saturday, 24th morning.
Like last year the
event was held at The Brampton Fairgrounds on Heart Lake Road.
Us Too! Brampton members played their part, turning out in
numbers for the
Survivors lap and showing their support for the cause.

The event had all the characteristic hallmarks
of what makes the Relay for Life
what it is each year, featuring food and entertainment, live
bands, movies
and other night long activities.
The kids activities area was well organized complete with Petunia
the clown,
arts and crafts, face painting and host of other team activities
keeping them
involved and entertained.
Jim Dorsey, our Relay Team captain
was seen in his sparkling PT Cruiser which he had
volunteered for the Relay's car parade.
The scene was filled with emotion
as the survivors walked the victory lap, marking
the start of the all night relay, cheered on by thousands
of family members,
well wishers and supporters. Compared to last year the weather
was
much cooler making it a very pleasant evening albeit a somewhat
chilly night.
As the sun set on the Relay for Life
Camp it really dawned on the fight against cancer.
Luminaries lit the track by the
thousands attended to by family, friends and well wishers.
Well no one really knows but one can suppose that the fight
will go on for as
long as it takes - till the battle against cancer is won.
Our thanks to all those who came to the event and
to
the Us Too! Team members who stayed and walked all night
