Our Season's closing Pot Luck and Social
featuring our customary Lucky Draw
A delightful
evening with around 48 members, wives and guests
coming together in the spirit of caring and sharing for our
seasonal Pot
Luck and Social.
This pot luck marked the12 th year of our operations.
Members enjoyed a sumptuous pot luck meal and the evening
featured light music from the 50s, 60s and 70s era.
And our usual lucky draw was held with many fabulous prizes
Invited guest for this evening was Michelle
Karker, head of the local Canadian
Cancer Society who thanked the group, commended our contribution
towards
the cause and encouraged participation at the upcoming CCS 'Relay
for Life'
It was an evening to honor and appreciate
two of our very fine lady
volunteers - Tilly Netherton and Margaret Butterly. Over the
years both
have given selflessly of their time and devotion towards our
chapter's
cause and activities. The group presented them with bouquets
acknowledging their outstanding contribution.
Announcements were made at this event
reminding everyone and
encouraging their participation in the upcoming June events:
'The Golf Tournament' - Monday June
19th
and the 'Relay for Life' - Friday June 23 rd
